HEROES OF PEACE WALK
WHAT IS THE HEROES OF PEACE WALK?
The Heroes of Peace Walk is made up of 37 stepping stones that separate the Sister City Peace Gardens. Each of the stones will be engraved with the name of someone in history who has fostered, promoted and worked for peace in the world.
HOW ARE NAMES CHOSEN?
There is a committee made up of members of Friends of Peace Park and Veterans for Peace, Chapter 114. They review names and biographical information. Names are chosen based on their national or international impact on the cause of peace.
WHEN WILL THE NAMES BE ENGRAVED?
The first few names will be engraved in time for installation in 2022.
WILL OTHER INFORMATION BE ENGRAVED ON THE STONES?
The name and years of birth and death will be engraved on the stones along with a short summary of the person's contribution to Peace. We will be posting biographical information here on our website including links for more details. QR codes posted near the stones will direct visitors to our web page.
WHAT IS THE COST?
Costs for engraving these stone is being researched. Donations of any size are welcome at this time. If you would like to sponsor one of the stones, please email us at peaceparksheboygan@gmail.com to let us know of your interest. We will let you know the cost as soon as we know.
